Westby House was once Sedbergh’s Railway Station which opened on 16 September 1861 and closed in 1965.

Although the exterior building is largely unchanged the interior has been beautifully updated and is now an Eco friendly 5 bedroomed luxury holiday let with all modern amenities. Unseen from the road, it is set in large maintained south west facing gardens and accessed by a 150 metre long private drive. 360 degree uninterrupted views of the Howgill Fells and the Lune Valley. The interior layout enables it to be two self contained units each with its own entrance if required – a 2 bed cottage all on one level (Old Station Cottage) or a 3 bed house on two levels (Westby).

Central heating is provided via an Eco wood pellet biomass system making it both warm and green and providing constant hot water. All products used in the house are plant based. Part of the accommodation is on one level with a downstairs bathroom and bedrooms for accessibility. It is extremely well equipped with everything you need plus all modern appliances including microwaves, dishwashers, 3 fridges and 2 Nespresso coffee machines as well as having ‘Free-Sat’ TV and Free WiFi throughout.

There are four King sized bedrooms and one twin bedroom, two sitting rooms each with TV, DVD, FreeSat, 3 dining areas, 2 fully equipped kitchens and a 2 bathrooms one with freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle. It is situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is thus only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park enabling both areas to be explored with ease.

Fantastic and convenient location – only 4 miles from Junction 37 of the M6, 15 minutes from Oxenholme Station and 1 hour 25 from Manchester Airport – makes it an ideal base for everyone wishing to discover both the Lake District and the Dales.
